Would you like to join Austin Eating Disorder Specialists?  We want to welcome you to a community of professionals, students, and associate members who are dedicated to working for the advancement of the field of eating disorder treatment. We hope you will join us in helping to reach our mission: AEDS’s mission is to serve as an open forum for interdisciplinary professionals to gain and disseminate knowledge of eating disorders in an effort to provide exemplary treatment and to act as a cohesive resource within the community.

 

There are 2 levels of membership: Professional ($50 annually) & Student/Associate ($25 annually), please see the membership guidelines for explanation of these categories.
 

Benefits of Membership

2) Contact information included on AEDS website for Professional Members.
3) Access to BASECAMP account, enabling the member to communicate easily with other members.
4) Invitation to attend
bi-monthly business meetings- voting priviledges and provide input to organization's actions. 

5) Access to attend bi-monthly professional presentations to support professional development and to enhance clinical knowledge.

5) Access to attend bi-monthly case consultation meetings which provide valuable input and consultation on clinical work. 

 

Membership Responsibilities

1) All members pay an annual membership fee due by the last day in January of each calendar year.

2) Members agree to attend a minimum of 4 of 12 scheduled meetings annually.

3) Members are responsible for reporting to the Membership Committee Chair any changes in information submitted on the application form or on the website within 30 days of the change occurring.

4) It is the responsibility of the student/associate member to inform the AEDS membership committee chair when student status changes. If this occurs during the middle of a calendar year for which student dues have been paid, no additional dues will be owed until the beginning of the following calendar year. However, other level related benefits of membership, e.g. inclusion on the web site, will change immediately.

If you would like to become a member, please fill out the application and you will be contacted when the process is complete.  Once you have turned in the application, you may be asked to provide additional information before membership is approved.
